Sweet stuff

I’m not going to make a habit of posting links to other blogs, but every now and then I might, and this one I can really get behind.

For myself, I notice that whenever I’m able to lay off sugar, the craving subsides quickly, however it comes back rather quickly too :)

    No. For several reasons, both good and bad :)
    I don’t necessarily disagree with the zone philosophy, and will take some things from it, but all things considered it’s not doable right now. My diet is already, and will remain, based on the 7 habits linked on the right.

    I am not able to trust myself with the freedom, yet. I like the prescription detail that Zone gives me.

    I have to feed the family as well, and there’s no way I’d get them on the zone, however hard I tried. And I don’t have the time, nor the energy, to prepare separate meals…

    Lars, as a nonbeliever when I started, I felt the same way… but believe it or not, some very simple meals can be made in the zone. I was just asking because one of the big things that the Zone says to steer clear from is a lot of sugar. You can find on my blog (somewhere) my story of me giving up soda. As a long time addict it was very difficult, but I’ve calculated what I’ve saved myself in terms of calories, and sugar intake. After 30 some odd days (this was last time I tabulated) I had saved myself over 12,000 calories. That’s an additional 6 days worth of food. So, needless to say I think it’s helped with my weight loss as well. The Zone has helped me lose 15 lbs in the last three months. I have gained a little back, but it’s because I’ve slipped up lately. Hence the ice cream comment today… :(

    Yeah, I saw your ice cream comment, and decided based on prior experience of women in that kind of mood to not comment :)

    I gave up soda a loong time ago, and there’s hardly any sugar left in my diet, other than the rare ice cream or chocolate bar.

    I’ve made meals from zone recipes before, and will again. I just won’t go all out, as I know that’s setting up for failure.
